OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2013. In January law firm SORAINEN welcomes its newest partner Allar Joks as the 23rd regional partner in the Baltic and Belarusian offices. For seven years before joining SORAINEN, Allar had held the position of Chancellor of Justice of the Republic of Estonia. He also practised as a judge for ten years at Estonian courts of first instance and appeal, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.

“I am immensely proud that the SORAINEN partners asked me to join their regional partnership. This means that now I can further contribute to legal developments on a wider scale – SORAINEN is the only integrated law firm in the Baltics and Belarus with regional decision making, planning and know-how sharing,” states Allar Joks, who joined SORAINEN in April 2009. Allar also hopes that this news proves his commitment to SORAINEN and stops speculation about him entering politics.

Aku Sorainen, founder and senior partner of SORAINEN, admits that Allar Joks has not only well supported development of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team, which is genuinely thriving, but has also become a true delegate of SORAINEN culture both internally and externally. “Allar contributes skilfully to our legal expertise foremost in various disputes, government relations and tax issues, but his presence also injects pure enthusiasm into the team around him to make the extra effort with a smile!” he adds.

However, Allar Joks also confirms that he will still continue making his voice heard in public discussion when he sees that the topic at issue is socially important and his contribution could make a difference. “My conviction to at least ask questions remains intact. Working daily with practical client problems will provide me with hands-on understanding how to drive the Estonian community forward so that the sheep will be healthy but the wolves will have eaten too.”
