OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2013. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov held a meeting with President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe Didier Leroy.

The interlocutors discussed the issues of establishment a production of Toyota cars in Kazakhstan. As earlier reported, the memorandum of mutual understanding was signed between the Government of Kazakhstan and Toyota Motor Corporation in Astana today. The assembly of cars will be based on CDK method.About 3000 cars are planned to be produced annually using the production capacities of “SaryarkaAutoProm” LLP in Kostanay.

“This is a very important project for us as long as it provides opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. We believe the project will contribute to development of the engineering sector of Kazakhstan and its industrialization,” D.Leroy said at the meeting.

The Prime Minister, in his turn, highly appraised the prospects of the joint project saying that Kazakhstan is a member of the Customs Union and the sales market is large.
