OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus counts on receiving the fifth USD 440m tranche of the stand-by loan from the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) in April.

Belarus’ Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets make a statement to this effect at a meeting of Belarusbank shareholders on March 27.

The Board of the EurAsEC Financial Bailout Fund is expected to hold a meeting on March 28 to discuss the timeline for allocating the fifth tranche of the stand-by loan. Belarus counts on being able to receive the fifth tranche soon, most probably in April, Kharkovets said.

Hit by a financial crisis in 2011, Minsk agreed to receive a USD 3 billion stabilization loan from the EurAsEC Financial Bailout Fund in several tranches from 2011 to 2013. The fund has already disbursed one USD 800 million and three USD 440 million tranches of the bailout to the country.
