OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus has designated the Economy Ministry as the principle authority to report on activities of Belarusian free economic areas (FEAs) to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

A bill to this effect has been approved by the Lower Chamber of Belarus’ Parliament.

In particular, the Economy Ministry is supposed to inform the EEC about the formation or liquidation of a Belarus-based FEA within a 30-day period, and inform the EEC about new residents included into a FEA.

The bill accentuated the point that Belarusian FEAs shall not tolerate business activities banned by the Customs Union.
