OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2013. This year, agrarians will harvest one of the biggest yields since independence. According to preliminary data of regions it is planed to gather about 54 million tonnes of grains, which is 10 million more than last year.

The work on entering of Ukrainian grain new markets is being carried out. This was started by the First vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“This year Ukraine prepares to the record volume of grains. By the forecasts of regions the yield will be by nearly 10 million tonnes more than last year. So active work is being carried out to enter new markets,” Serhiy Arbuzov noted.

First vice Prime Minister also said that as of today agrarian producers have already gathered over 20 million tonnes of early grains.

“Two-thirds of fields have already harvested, or gathered more than 20 million tones of grains. Such performance was achieved due to high yields, which this year to 7 tonnes per hectare more than last year,” Serhiy Arbuzov said.

He also said that farmers should be provided with modern and affordable equipment. It is necessary to implement a program for joint production of combines with international companies. As a result, in 2014 the number of vehicles, including harvesting, will be increased to 75 000.
