OREANDA-NEWS. Work on the North Station in the city of Huangshan, Anhui province, a part of the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railway, is expected to begin in August and railway authorities are inviting project bids.

The city's North Station covers a 40,000-square-meter area with a 4–story building, 16 platforms and 22 rail lines. The plan calls for it to open by the end of 2014, at which time it will be the third largest station along the Hefei-Fuzhou section of the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed rail line.

The station design is based on a Huangshan Mountain theme, influenced by the clouds, old pines and Huizhou architecture.
