Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) announced expanded service from Los Angeles, CA, to three popular destinations in Mexico, reinforcing the Los Angeles International Airport as a key gateway for Mexico and Central America region. The new schedule includes daily service to Cancun and the expansion of services to Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

"We are seeking to offer increased and convenient connections to our customers in Mexico and through Los Angeles they can access more than 176 peak-day departures to 63 destinations worldwide, operated by Delta and its partners.”

Through Los Angeles Delta's gateway, the airline offers Mexican customers a preferred schedule for connecting to the high demand Asia-Pacific destinations such as Sydney, Australia, and Haneda and Narita, Japan. The schedule varies according to the season.

Delta continues to invest for enhancing customer experience both in flight and on the ground. Travelers from Mexico will enjoy the benefits of the USD 229 million expansion and enhancement of Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport. The current project will double the size of the ticketing lobby and screening checkpoints, open an exclusive, separate Sky Priority lobby and checkpoint, and include renovations to the Delta Sky Club and new baggage carousels. The project has already begun and is scheduled to take place in several phases with full completion in 2015.
