Industrial Production in Transnistria Fell by 24% in 1H
OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2013. As it was informed by the Ministry of Economic Development of Transnistria, the decline was mainly due to the stoppage of the largest enterprise in the region - Moldovan Steel Works (Ribnita).
That was the reason that production of black steel industry in January-June 2013 decreased by 98.6%- up to USD1.14 million vs. USD 83.4 million the year before. In I half of 2013 production volumes of the power industry of Transnistria in USD terms decreased by 19.2% -up to USD 126.5 million. Production output in the food industry increased by 31.1% - up to USD 58.3 million. Light industry output grew by 14.7% - up to USD 50.8 million.
As regards mechanical engineering and metal processing, production volumes increased by 3.6% -up to USD 20.4 million. Chemical products output grew by 28.9% - up to USD 9.9 million. Production of construction materials decreased by 23.4% - up to USD 14.2 million.
Volumes of milling and feed industry production increased by 44.9% - up to USD 6.7 million.
