OREANDA-NEWS. The representatives of KAMAZ took part in a round table meeting which was held during Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum and was devoted to promotion of gas motor fuel in Tatarstan.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, who participated in the event, Tatarstan is one of pilot regions realizing a project of conversion of vehicles to gas motor fuel. “This is a very urgent issue for our republic and the whole country, and we will try our best to support the project,” Tatarstan’s President said. He also mentioned KAMAZ’s achievements in this sphere and reminded that the enterprise was working out measures to expand the use of gas motor fuel in Tatarstan.

In his turn, Evgeny Pronin, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ for Sales and Service, told how the company was realizing the state program titled Development of the Gas Motor Fuel Market in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2013-2023. He noted that KAMAZ was the only enterprise which had moved from project development to implementation. Rafael Batyrshin, CEO of OOO RariTEK, KAMAZ’s distributor of CNG vehicles, announced plans for NGV production. There is a wide range of models for road construction, passenger transportation, and municipal services. Over 20 models mainly on the basis of KAMAZ vehicles are designed for the oil and gas sector. The company offers gas-powered NEFAZ buses too.

Azat Galiakhmetov, Deputy Director General of ANO Executive Directorate of the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, told the participants of the round table meeting about troubler-free operation of gas-powered buses at Universiade 2013. On the average, buses (160 units) operated 16 hours a day. In all, vehicles used at the summer Universiade made more than 97 thousand trips, and 25 thousand runs were made by vehicles fuelled with gas. According to Mr. Galiakhmetov, the use of gas motor fuel enabled to optimize costs and, moreover, reduce harmful emissions released to the atmosphere.
