OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2013. CJSC Taimyr Fuel Company (subsidiary of MMC Norilsk Nickel) started implementation of petroleum products procurement activities at the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange.

First purchases of diesel fuel and gasoline were conducted on the basis of request submitted by Kola MMC (KMMC) in the middle of October, additional purchases were also carried out for Vostokgeologiya on October 30.

Transition to commodity exchange transaction constitute an important step towards greater transparency of the procurement operations and it is planned to carry out further works in this direction in the future. The next step with regards to improving the efficiency of non-regular petroleum products procurement process will be to carry out relevant tender procedures through Fabrikant.ru electronic platform using previous positive experience of the Procurement Department of Norilsk Nickel. For instance, ‘Reduction’ procedure (gradual lowering of the offer price by suppliers) tender was previously held on October 30, which allowed the Company to procure heating oil for KKMC at the lowest price available. 

CJSC Taimyr Fuel Company (TTK) is subsidiary of OSJC MMC Norilsk Nickel. TTK supplies petroleum products to Norilsk Industrial District and Taimyr Dolgano-Nenetsk Municipal District. The Company has five oil depots and six petrol stations. Transportation of petroleum products is carried out during summer navigation period by Yenisei and year-round by Northern Sea Route through transshipment oil storage depot in Dudinka. The Company provides petroleum products storage and handling services. Petroleum products are distributed through petrol stations and directly by tank trucks.
