OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines has announced its financial results under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) for the first nine months of 2013. In January-September 2013 the airline's revenue reached RUB 83.7 billion, a 17% rise over the first nine months of 2012. Net income amounted to RUB 736 million, a 20% increase over the same period of the previous year. This growth was mainly supported by the expenditure control program being carried out by the airline.

Transaero's asset value has increased by 22% over September 2012 reaching RUB 95.9 billion. The airline has achieved these financial results amid the growth of its key operational indicators. In the first nine months of 2013 Transaero's passenger turnover reached 36.3 billion RPK, a 16% increase over January-September 2012. Number of passengers carried reached 9.8 million passengers, a 21.6% growth compared to the same period of 2012. Transaero delivered a total of 47.7 tons of cargo, a 2.6% rise over the first nine months of 2012.
