OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2013. Representatives of the Department for Control over the Authorities and the Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) took part in a conference on the pressing issues of the wine market organized as part of VINO Moscow International Exhibition.

During a discussion at the section on “Regulating Alcohol Market”, FAS representatives expressed their vision of legalizing parallel import in the Russian Federation, social responsibility of business, specifics of control over advertising of production and circulation of alcohol products.

“The discussion about parallel import continues. Thinking about alcohol products markets in this connection, one certainly needs to take into account the specifics of the state policy in the sector, which is aimed, in particular, at reducing price affordability of alcohol products. An important aspect is a threat of counterfeit products, which can not only create problems for fair competition and bona fide entrepreneurs but also be a threat to consumer health. In any case representatives of business community can discuss even the most complex issues with the Antimonopoly Service at the Expert Council for Developing Competition on the Market of Production and Circulation of Ethanol, Alcohol and Alcohol-Containing Products”, said the Head of FAS Department for Control over the Authorities, Vladimir Mishelovin.
