OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2013. Dishes designed by Michelin-starred Chefs, prestigious events, new gourmet delights, these are just some of Air France’s secrets to ensure magic moments on board its flights this holiday season.

The month of December launches a new season of Christmas and New Year festivities. Air France hopes this holiday season will be full of exciting trips, discoveries and moments of sheer pleasure. This year, Air France has invited distinguished Chefs to delight its customers in La Premiere and Business with the promise of an exceptional high-flying gourmet experience.

Discovering fine French cuisine with Chefs present on board

At the end of November, Air France launched the start of the holiday season by offering new gourmet delights which will continue throughout 2014.

Once a week, a Chef from Servair, an Air France subsidiary and leader in airline catering, boards a long-haul Air France flight flight and welcomes La Premiere and Business customers. During the flight, the Chef introduces them to the a la carte menus, including those by the talented young Chef Thibaut Ruggeri, winner of the Bocuse d’Or 2013, who has been designing exclusive new dishes in the Business class cabin for the past few months. When new menus are added in Economy and Premium Economy, the Chef presents them to passengers.

The Servair Chef meets passengers, finds out what they think of the dishes and explains how the com-pany adapts to the constraints of airline catering on a daily basis, to preserve the original spirit and flavour of the dishes on board. In addition, he passes on his expertise and know-how to the crew, to ensure dishes are presented in an optimum way and to constantly ensure service excellence.

The next exclusive Chef’s visit on board: December 10, 2013, on flight AF006 by Airbus A380 to New York.

The most Michelin-starred Chef in La Premiere…

In December and January, the La Premiere travel experience will be even more exclusive. Joel Robuchon, the world’s most Michelin-starred Chef, is designing exceptional new dishes for the La Premiere cabin for an unforgettable culinary experience. Available on all Air France long-haul flights on departure from Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, the famous Chef’s seasonal delights are a promise of unrivalled culinary refinement. Passengers are invited to the best high-flying restaurant to enjoy a moment of French fine dining that Air France represents on a daily basis on board its flights.
