OREANDA-NEWS. Fujitsu Limited today announced that it will participate in Microsoft Corporation's global cloud consortium, the Cloud OS Network, as authorized Cloud OS partner. In undertaking this initiative, Fujitsu seeks to enhance its lineup of products and services that are compliant with Microsoft's Cloud OS vision.

Participating in the consortium will enable Fujitsu to deliver cloud services that take advantage of Microsoft's technologies with the collaboration of Microsoft's engineers and consultants.

Fujitsu will continue to strengthen its alliance with Microsoft and further bolster its public and private clouds (both on-premises and hosted) as well as flexible public-private hybrid cloud combinations.

On November 20, 2013, Fujitsu unveiled its expanded lineup of products and services to offer customers greater flexibility to effectively use the cloud, as stated in the announcement "Fujitsu Enables More Effective Use of Cloud with Enhanced Hybrid Cloud Initiatives." In line with the delivery of these products and services, and in concordance with Microsoft's Cloud OS vision, Fujitsu has become a member of Microsoft's Cloud OS Network.

The Cloud OS Network is a global consortium of hosting vendors and is based on Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V, System Center 2012 R2, and Windows Azure Pack. Keeping in mind customer needs, Fujitsu will provide cloud infrastructure as well as core products and applications based on Microsoft technologies, and technological support through Microsoft's proposed optimum architecture.

Fujitsu was selected to be a member of the consortium owing to a high appraisal of its cloud-related expertise, industry-leading technological prowess and track record in hybrid and private cloud services, as well as related business systems, provided as hybrid solutions based on Microsoft technology.

The products and services already offered by Fujitsu that run on technology conforming to Microsoft's standards will be adapted based on the initiatives of the consortium. This will allow customers to flexibly build, migrate and operate cloud systems based on shared Microsoft technology and will enable this to be done in a more efficient way.
