OREANDA-NEWS. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport took part in the 7th International Forum Transport of Russia hosted in Moscow 5-7 December with the support of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

The conference “Investments in Civil Aviation and subsidizing of regional air transportation services”, organized within the framework of the forum, was attended by the delegates of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), FSUE Civil Airports (Airfields) Administration, FSUE State ATM Corporation, agents of the leading Russian airports, airlines and others.

The General Director of Airport Tolmachevo JSC Evgeniy YANKILEVICH presented his report on the topic “Effectiveness of the airport investments”, wherein he proposed to estimate effectiveness of such investments from the perspective of all interested parties: the Federal and regional authorities, the aviation enterprise proprietors and management officials and their service consumers (airlines, passengers, freight/mail forwarders and consignees). As an example of proven experience of investment project realization, Evgeniy YANKILEVICH mentioned the terminal modernization project in 2004-2009, construction of the surfaced RWY-2 as well as building and equipping of the cargo terminal at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. In November 2013, in cooperation with the Federal Customs Service and FSUE Russian Post, the International Mail Processing Center was put into operation at Novosibirsk airport to handle EMS items coming from abroad. Currently, the airfield reconstruction design works are in progress as well as modernization and equipment of the International passenger terminal, accompanied by expansion of border checkpoints. Moreover, the airport initiated development and implementation of the innovative operational concept of air navigation service system at Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport and creation of a training center for the airport specialists.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic terminal capacity makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the capacity on international flights - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways.

Transport of Russia is an annual international forum dedicated to the transport system development issues. Every year it brings together over 1,000 experts of transport industry including members of the Russian Government, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and specialized federal agencies’ officials, local authorities and regional transport agencies’ management officials, major companies’ and state corporations’ executives, representatives of transport unions and associations.
