OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2014. As part of measures to ensure the safety of public transport, in January passengers will undergo mandatory baggage inspection at all stations at which boarding for the Sapsan high-speed train routes takes place.

Inspection points for passengers and baggage have therefore been opened at Tver, Vishny Volochek, Bologoe, Chudovo, Okylovka and Uglovka stations between Moscow – St. Petersburg – Moscow and Vladimir and Dzerzhinsk stations between Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod –Moscow.

Inspection pavilions with special equipment which enables the contactless inspection of baggage and hand luggage has also been installed at the exits to the boarding and disembarkation platforms for Sapsan trains.

Previously, there were inspection points for checking baggage items and passengers using the Sapsan trains only at the terminal stations on each route: Leningrad Station in Moscow, Moscow Station in St. Petersburg, Kursk Station in Moscow and Moscow Station in Nizhny Novgorod.

In connection with the introduction of these additional screening procedures, Russian Railways asks passengers travelling on Sapsan high-speed trains to arrive at the train station well in advance of their departure.
