OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2014. Two items of scientific achievements independently developed by the 5th China Metallurgical Construction Group (5MCC Group) passed through the authentication carried out by MCC Group.

The Research & Application on Replacement Technology of Pillar Brick of Dry-quenching Ramp was rated at international advanced level. The Research & Application on New Construction Technology for Flash-smelting & Flash-converting Process System of Copper Smelting Works (with an annul output of 400,000 tons) was rated as the leading level in China.

Under the R&D Project of Research & Application on Replacement Technology of Pillar Brick of Dry-quenching Ramp, new replacement devices, construction process and new materials have been developed to resolve the difficult problem on brick replacing by shortening the construction period and prolonging the service life of dry quenching. Up to now, the new products have been successfully utilized in various coke ovens in China. In this regard, three items of patent have been applied, one of which, a holder for fixing of the drilling machine, has been approved; and the other two are under assessment at present, including: (i) the Utilization Method of a Fake Support Holder for Pillar Brick of Dry-quenching Ramp; and (ii) Overhauling Process for Pillar Brick of Dry-quenching Ramp.

Under the R&D Project of Research & Application on New Construction Technology for Flash-smelting & Flash-converting Process System of Copper Smelting Works, the same project of Guangxi Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. has been taken into consideration. The project team undertook research on the key technologies and resolved quite a few problems, for instance, demoulding of the large-sized pre-cast reinforced concrete columns, as well as the difficulties in hoisting of flash-smelting and flash-converting furnaces within a narrow space. This technology, which has been proved to be essential for the installation accuracy of heavy embedded parts and improvement of the construction quality, has been successfully put into application for the project of Guangxi Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals.
