Lean Technologies Help Optimize Production Processes
OREANDA-NEWS. For two days, IT-Park of Naberezhnye Chelny and KAMAZ production facilities became the venue for the conference On Introduction of Lean Production Systems in DIC Organizations.
Today, the participants of the conference and guest journalists managed to see for themselves the effective use of lean technologies at three factories of KAMAZ – the automobile, press-and-stamping and engine plants. Vladimir Arzhentsov, Deputy Chairman of the Production System Development Committee; Viktor Mrakov, Chief Engineer of the Press and Stamping Plant; and Anatoly Filin, Deputy Director of Production of the Engine Plant, told the working groups they accompanied in their tour of KAMAZ’s facilities in detail about lean technologies implemented in production processes. These technologies enabled to greatly increase the workers’ labour productivity, improve safety on each production area and reduce energy costs. The staff of the plants is 100% involved in the lean production system, according to KAMAZ’s experts, and each worker of the enterprise is responsible for high-quality work done at his or her workplace.
According to Yury Klochkov, CEO of OJSC KAMAZ, since the adoption of the lean philosophy in 2006 the enterprise has saved 20 billion roubles and spent less than 1 percent of this sum to introduce lean manufacturing by 2014. “Tatarstan’s Government supported us seriously, and now we want to raise the issue of introduction of lean methods and principles on the level of the Russian Government,” Yury Klochkov said. “We are ready to share our experience with other enterprises, and, hopefully, this will help companies receive support at the federal level.”
Masterclasses are currently being conducted in IT-Park, and the conference will continue tomorrow.
