Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) will launch new daily nonstop service from Salt Lake City International Airport to Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City, starting on Dec. 20, 2014. Delta's new route highlights its growth in Mexico by offering more options to connect important business markets in Mexico with its international hubs in the United States.

“Mexico City is a global city, and one of the most important financial and cultural centers for Latin America. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, the city is experiencing a growing demand for connections to more destinations in the U.S and worldwide,” said Carlos E. Hernandez, Delta's director for Mexico. “Our new service between Salt Lake City and Mexico City is part of Delta's commitment to supporting this growing demand for business customers, both in the capital city and in other cities within Mexico, through our combined network with Aeromexico.”

Through its long-term alliance with Aeromexico, Delta has scheduled its SLC-MEX service to conveniently connect with onward flights from Aeromexico's hub in Mexico City. Delta and Aeromexico will now offer round trip connections between Salt Lake City and the following cities in Mexico: Acapulco, Aguascalientes, Leon, Campeche, Cancun, Durango, Guadalajara, Morelia, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Torreon, Veracruz, and Zacatecas.*

Delta is the largest airline serving Salt Lake City with more than 260 peak-day departures to nearly 90 cities, including seven international destinations. The airline provides significant connecting opportunities from its hub in Utah, including multiple daily flights to key U.S. business markets.
