OREANDA-NEWS. OMZ-Foundry Production, a member of OMZ Group, signed a trilateral agreement with Siemens AG and Siemens Gas Turbines Technology LLC for manufacturing of the test batch of castings. The agreement was signed as the result of the audit of OMZ-Foundry Manufacture against the compliance with standards of Siemens AG suppliers.

According to the terms of the agreement OMZ-Foundry Production will manufacture 3 sets of test castings for the gas turbine with a preliminary mechanical treatment. The agreement is one of the stages of development of the programme of localization of Siemens gas turbines production in Russia that is implemented by Siemens AG.

OMZ-Foundry Production, established on the basis of the metallurgical production of Izhorskiye Zavody, has a longstanding successful practice in the production of castings of the highest quality for ship building, general machine building, power-plant industry, mining industry, metallurgical, petrochemical, and other spheres of industry. The cooperation with the world leader in the sphere of power equipment production - Siemens AG - is a strategically important trend of OMZ-Foundry Manufacture development.

Siemens Gas Turbines Technology LLC is a joint enterprise of Siemens AG (65%) and Power Machines OJSC (35%), it was established on the 1st of December, 2011. It specializes in the development of gas turbines, localization of production, assembly, sale, project management, and servicing of gas turbines in Russia and CIS. At the present time, the enterprise is located in the city of Saint-Petersburg on two sites: the production is based on the production facilities of the former Interturbo LLC (a joint enterprise of Siemens AG and Power Machines OJSC during the period 1991 to 2011).
