OREANDA-NEWS. Delivery of main power equipment to the construction site of the second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP is underway. In accordance with the approved time schedule, Power Machines, acting in the capacity of a primary construction contractor, has delivered main units of a turbine set generator to the erection site.

Another oversize load - a 122-ton generator stator - was delivered to Blagoveshchenskaya TPP's turbine shop by a dedicated railway truck. A 39-ton generator rotor was delivered to the construction site a month ago.

In spite of low temperatures, activities at the construction site are in progress. More than 300 people and 30 units of equipment work every day. In a boiler shop, installation of a boiler set and auxiliary equipment is underway.

So far, more than 430 tons of boiler steel structures have been mounted. In a turbine shop, pillar concreting works completed and scaffolding for installation of formworks for the upper structure of the turbine set foundation was erected. At the cooling tower construction site, the third and final stage of tower body foundations concreting is being carried out. Steelworks of the cooling tower are expected to be delivered in January.

At the beginning of the next year, St. Petersburg-based joint venture between Power Machines OJSC and Toshiba Corporation will ship power transformers to Blagoveshchenskaya TPP.

After construction of the second stage, installed power capacity of the power plant is expected to increase by 120 MW up to 400 MW and its thermal capacity - by 188 GCal/h up to 1005 GCal/h. Annual output will reach 464 million kWh, and the annual electricity supply - 427.0 million kWh. The power plant is to be fuelled by coal mined at the Yerkovetsky open-pit coal mine (Amur Region). The construction project completion is scheduled for late 2015.

The second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP is one of the four projects included in the RusHydro investment programme for construction of new power facilities in the Far East, implemented in cooperation with RAO Energy System of East JSC, in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. For these purposes, 50 billion rubles were allocated from the budget of the Russian Federation. Comprehensive management of activity of all RusHydro subsidiaries (customers and developers), which were specifically established to construct thermal generation facilities in the Far East, is exercised by RAO Energy System of East JSC, operated by RusHydro Group.
