OREANDA-NEWS. Apartment and condo residents could soon enjoy the benefits of ultra-fast Internet service, with speeds up to 1 gigabit per second.* AT&T** is working with property owners, management groups and developers to reach agreements to deliver U-verse with AT&T GigaPower to additional new and existing multifamily living units.

U-verse with AT&T GigaPower is available today to residents in multiple properties in the Nashville area. Some of these properties include:

  • Clarksville - Addison at Rossview, Sonoma Ridge at Fairview and Stone Gate Condos
  • Murfreesboro - Richland Falls, Panther Creek Parc and 3343 Memorial
  • Nashville - The Dallas at Elliston Place, The Flats at Taylor Place, Lofts at the Reserve, Park at Melrose Heights, Pine Street Flats and Lofts at State
  • Smyrna - Almaville Farms at Seven Oaks.

“We want Nashvillians to harness the power of ultra-fast Internet access in everything they do, from creating good music to pioneering healthcare innovations,” said Joelle Phillips, president, AT&T Tennessee. We have been able to deploy network enhancements fast – in part because of smart, pro-investment policies, championed at the state level by Governor Haslam and legislative leaders like Speaker Harwell and Lt. Governor Ramsey – as well as streamlined local permitting processes that Mayor Dean and our Metro Council members have embraced. Expanding access to AT&T GigaPower to multi-family properties will further help to speed that deployment to more Nashvillians.”

AT&T will initially focus the expansion of the AT&T GigaPower fiber network to multifamily living units located in some of the fastest-growing rental markets across the nation.  In addition to Nashville, these markets include areas where U-verse with AT&T GigaPower is available or where plans to launch the service have been announced – Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Cupertino, Dallas, Fort Worth, Greensboro, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, Raleigh-Durham,   St. Louis, San Antonio and Winston-Salem.

“We want to bring ultra-fast Internet speeds and access to content in real-time to more of our customers,” said Joni Arison, AT&T senior vice president of AT&T Emerging Markets. “We’re working with property owners, management groups, homeowner associations and developers to expand the availability of high-speed Internet over our AT&T GigaPower network. This will make properties more attractive by offering Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second so residents can quickly connect to the cloud, telecommute more easily, video chat in real-time and stream the latest entertainment.”

U-verse with AT&T GigaPower gives customers the speed they need to power all of their devices.  With speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, a customer can download 25 songs from the Internet in less than a second or an HD movie in 36 seconds.**** They will also have access to AT&T’s award-winning U-verse TV and Voice services.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in the development of apartments, condos and communities. There’s also more demand by residents to stay connected to the content that matters most,” said Scott DeGarmo, president and CEO of Broadband Communities.  “AT&T’s commitment to expand U-verse with AT&T GigaPower is about delivering high-speed Internet connections to keep people connected, informed and entertained.”
