OREANDA-NEWS. Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today unveiled details on its presence at the 2016 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS16) annual conference and exhibition, to be held February 29 – March 4 in Las Vegas. Avnet’s booth will feature seven members of its partner ecosystem in the U.S. and Canada: Intel, Lumenate, Meridian, Nutanix, Oracle, Sirius and Veeam.

Avnet, along with members of its highly knowledgeable partner ecosystem, will showcase unique healthcare IT solutions they have developed to help healthcare organizations transform their business to better support the future of healthcare delivery. These solutions and services span next-generation technologies, including those related to big data and analytics, cloud, converged infrastructure, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobility and security. In the booth, Avnet will also demonstrate Oracle’s big data and analytics solutions for healthcare, as well as Intel’s new Breach Security Assessment Service currently being piloted in Health and Life Sciences.

In addition to its exhibit at HIMSS, Avnet will also hold a HealthPath® University in conjunction with HIMSS16. At Avnet’s HealthPath University, participating partners work with industry experts and receive in-depth healthcare market training. This unique face-to-face training curriculum for IT solution providers focuses on trends, terminology, regulatory and compliance challenges, and technology needs in the healthcare industry. This year, the one-day training on February 29 at The LINQ Hotel, Las Vegas, combines instruction-led classroom study with a visit to the HIMSS16 exhibition floor to explore leading technology suppliers and their solutions.

Additionally, Avnet offers a week-long HealthPath University Internship, which is held on-site at HonorHealth hospitals in Arizona. This specialized program takes participants into a hospital to provide a true "on-the-job" educational experience. The curriculum provides participants with a better understanding of the daily challenges facing healthcare providers and their patients.
