OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC "Power Machines" manufactured and shipped a hydro-generator designed for replacement of the RusGidro Votkinsk HPP hydro-electric unit No. 4. Equipment is planned to be delivered to the plant by motor vehicle before end of June this year.

A Contract for comprehensive replacement of ten hydro-electric units of Votkinsk HPP was signed between RusGidro and Silovye Mashiny in December, 2014.

In compliance with its terms the Company will design, manufacture and deliver ten equipment packages each including an adjustable-blade hydro-turbine complete with an automatic control system, a hydro-generator, as well as ancillary equipment. The Contract also envisages equipment installation, mounting supervision and commissioning. Replacement of Votkinsk HPP hydro-electric units, which have been operated since 1961, by new ones will be carried out within the frames of the RusGidro Integrated Modification Program (IMP).

The Contract performance is planned up to 2025. As a result the plant output will be increased by 130 MW and will amount to 1,150 MW (10 hydro-electric units with 115 MW output each).

Currently ten hydro-electric units (two of 110 MW and eight of 100 MW output) manufactured in 1960-ies at Silovye Mashiny enterprises – Leningrad Metal Plant and Elektrosila Plant – are being operated at Votkinsk HPP.
