OREANDA-NEWS. Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are preparing to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Much work is being done in the branches that on the eve of anniversary will not only join the all-Russian holiday actions, but are also realizing their own projects.

The branch "Belgorodenergo" has completed work on the book "Energy - to the Great Victory", which tells about the work of the energy complex in Central Russia during the war, the heroic deeds of power engineers at the front and in the rear, on the military power of electricity and bold engineering solutions, born almost on the battlefield.

The first part of the edition contains historical documents, witnesses’ memories, publications of military newspapers about the role played by the power engineers in the development of the military-industrial complex, how mass relocation of factories and power plants in the rear areas was held, the construction of new energy-intensive industries and maximizing capacity at East, Siberia and Central Asia.

Thousands of employees of power stations and power grids passed front roads. Many fell in battles, those, who returned, with enthusiasm began to restore the destroyed economy, in the everyday life of great constructions completely devoting themselves to their beloved profession. Just with bare hands out of scrap materials they bit by bit recreated the energy system of the Soviet Union. Their stories are told in the second part of the book, which bears the name of the realized by the company historical and patriotic project - "The Story of a Feat".

A variety of sources was used in the preparation of the book, including materials of the Central Archive of the Defense Ministry, the museum "Headquarters of the Voronezh Front" in Pristensky district of the Kursk region, and data provided by branches of IDGC of Centre. The text was illustrated with 487 photographs. The book presentation will take place on the eve of Victory Day at the Museum "The third Russian battlefield" in the village of Prokhorovka.

"Voronezh frontline - frontline Tambov" - is the action name, which is carried out for the second year on the eve of Victory Day by power engineers of the Tambov and Voronezh branches of IDGC of Centre. Veterans of the power industry, as well as activists of the youth councils and trade union organizations of both branches take part in it.

Both regions have glorious military history. The fighting with fascist invaders that unfolded in the Voronezh region by its cruelty and duration is not much inferior to the battles for Stalingrad. On the borders of the Voronezh land the enemy was stopped and defeated. And the frontal Tambov region worked for the victory, where almost all enterprises were transferred to military production. In Tambov plants the legendary "Katyusha", shells, mines were produced. Residents of the Tambov land forged the victory not only in the plants but also in the forefront. More than 450 thousand inhabitants of the region went to the front. More than 250 thousand natives of the Tambov land did not come back from the war.

The action started in the past jubilee victory year. Employees of "Tambovenergo" visited Voronezh, where they laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Patriots Park, visited the exhibition in the Centre of military-patriotic education "Museum-Diorama", dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory. The power engineers also visited other memorable places of Voronezh - the memorial complex "Chizhovsky foothold" on the bank of the Voronezh Reservoir and the monument of Fame, located in the northern micro-district of the city, the site of fierce and bloody battles for the capital of the Black Soil Region.

This year the host party was Tambov power engineers, who organized for their Voronezh colleagues a number of historical and patriotic and commemorative events. 5 May in Tambov the Voronezh power engineers visited the Museum and Exhibition Centre of the Tambov region, laid flowers at the Eternal Flame, the Monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, the memorial "Tank" Tambov farmer". And in the village of Kovylka in Kirsanovsky district they visited the sponsored by "Tambovenergo" memorial to the soldiers, who fell during World War II and participated in the planting of the Alley of Power Engineers. It ended with a joint event tasting soldiers’ porridge, cooked in a field kitchen, specially deployed for the guests of "Voronezhenergo".

The branch "Kostromaenergo" continues to work on the annals of military glory. The campaign for the collection of stories of war veterans, which were told by their children and grandchildren - Kostroma power engineers, was launched last year, by the 70th anniversary of the Victory over 70 pages of the chronicle were collected, each of which is devoted to the biography of one of the participants in the war. This year 9 May the power engineers produced another 35 pages. "By this action we pay tribute to all fallen in battle and heroes, who passed the military road to the victory," says the head of the HR department of the branch "Kostromaenergo" Nadezhda Muravyeva. On the eve of Victory Day the exhibition "Memory Pages" will be held at the Museum of the history of the Kostroma power system from the chronicle: it will feature stands with photos, letters from the front, military orders and medals.

The Orel branch of IDGC of Centre together with the memorial complex in the village of Vyazhi in Novosilsky district of the region is implementing for Victory Day the patriotic project "War Letters". The complex in the village of Vyazhi is a symbolic place: it is here during the Battle of Kursk, Soviet troops began the Orel offensive operation "Kutuzov", which was completed with the liberation of Orel, the first salute in the history of the war and the deployment of general offensive of the Red Army to the west.

For employees of the branch and their children the museum will organize reading letters from the front, notes, stories and poems written by participants of the war, as well as a tour of the museum and historic military complex (for fighting sites) with a military field kitchen.
