OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom on Sunday, January 1, notified about the termination of imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia. The corresponding statement was posted on the Twitter account of the Foreign Ministry.

The published post reports that from the first day of 2023, the United Kingdom "stopped all imports of Russian liquefied natural gas."

Previously, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund (NSF) Igor Yushkov explained London's rejection of Russian LNG. "Not so much LNG was coming from Russia to Britain, although there was one. All gas went there through Yamal LNG, and the main market for Yamal LNG now is the European market. Basically everything goes to Spain, France, Belgium and partly to Portugal," the expert said, stressing that Britain's rejection of LNG will not affect either Russia or the kingdom.
