OREANDA-NEWS  Moldova may apply sanctions against Gazprom, including suing, due to a reduction in gas supplies, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Andrei Spynu said on the air of the Pro TV channel.

"Lawyers are analyzing the possibility of applying sanctions for non-compliance with the contract in the matter of deliveries of the entire volume. When it becomes clear, we will decide what actions to take and in which direction to move," Spynu said (translated by RIA Novosti).

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Russian company did not explain its decision to reduce the volume of supplies, although all gas bills are paid. In addition, the dialogue between Moldovagaz and Gazprom is conducted only at the technical level, although Spynu, according to him, has repeatedly requested a conversation with the company's management.

The country's Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa also spoke about plans to go to court if the Russian company stops gas supplies to Moldova. "If natural gas supplies are stopped, then we must understand that the shutdown will happen for political, not commercial reasons, and we will, of course, challenge in court if this happens," she said.
