OREANDA-NEWS   The Polish authorities have not yet decided what to do with their promise to abandon Russian oil if the European Union does not impose sanctions on receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline, Polish Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moscow told reporters.

Earlier, the Polish authorities promised to completely abandon Russian energy resources by the end of this year. Poland no longer receives coal and gas from Russia."As you have observed, the next package of sanctions has been discussed at the EU level in recent weeks. We always stand on the side of full, comprehensive sanctions without exceptions. Sanctions at the European level are key. Otherwise ... the sanctions will be leaky," Moscow said.

"I think it's too early today to say 'what if not' (if the European Union does not prohibit its countries from receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline - ed.), because we believe that the time has come for comprehensive sanctions against the northern pipeline," she added.

According to the minister, the Polish authorities and business will discuss further plans for Russian oil after the European Union does not extend its sanctions to the Druzhba oil pipeline. "If that were the case, then we will discuss further together with the concern (Polish fuel concern Orlen – ed.) or the concern will also decide what to do next with the commitments that have already been made," she said.
