OREANDA-NEWS Last November, Russia increased its natural gas exports to Slovakia by almost 12 percent compared to November 2023, to almost a two-year high, RIA Novosti calculated after examining data from Eurostat.

Bratislava's imports of Russian blue fuel reached 151.2 million euros in November, the highest since February 2023. At the same time, purchases increased by 22 percent in a month, and by more than a quarter in a year.

In just 11 months of last year, gas from Russia was piped to Slovakia for 1.2 billion euros, which is 16 percent less than in 2023.

Five more EU countries also buy Russian pipeline gas: Hungary imported the most in November, amounting to a maximum of 257.6 million euros since the beginning of the year. Annual growth was nine percent, and monthly growth was 12 percent; Greece purchased gas for 163.7 million euros, 9.6 times more than a year ago and 9.4 percent more than in October; Italy imported natural gas for 78.3 million euros. Rome increased shipments 3.4 times over the year, and decreased by 8.1 percent compared to October.; Bulgaria also received blue fuel for 10.5 million euros and the Czech Republic for 2.6 million euros.

Slovakia ranks third in terms of supplies.

In total, in January —November, EU countries purchased 6.7 billion euros worth of natural gas pipelines from Russia, which is 7.9 percent less than in 2023.
