OREANDA-NEWS  The congestion of tankers formed on Monday in the territorial waters of Turkey after a price restriction on Russian oil came into force in a number of countries.

According to them, the congestion is due to the fact that Turkey demanded additional confirmation of tanker insurance. Permission to enter the Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits is expected by 19 vessels with oil. The first tanker arrived there on November 29 and waited for its turn for six days.

A representative of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has not yet responded to the newspaper's request to comment on the situation.

The Group of Seven countries, the EU and Australia have agreed to introduce a price ceiling of $60 per barrel for Russian oil supplied by sea for their subordinate vessels and territories from December 5. In addition, from February 5, 2023, marginal prices for petroleum products will begin to operate, the parameters of which will be set later. The decision on the embargo on the supply of Russian oil to the EU countries remained in force and also began to take effect on December 5, but it will not affect the supply of fuel via the Druzhba oil pipeline to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the time being.
