OREANDA-NEWS The head of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Urmas Reinsalu, said that the price ceiling for oil from Russia should be lower than the market value of crude oil. He expressed this opinion during a press conference after a meeting of the Government of the republic, the broadcast was conducted on the portal Delfi.ee .

According to him, the ceiling for Russian oil set in December by the EU did not cause a global fuel crisis, "therefore, it is reasonable to lower it from $ 60 per barrel, since the real price of Russian crude oil is below this ceiling."

The diplomat noted that this procedure can be carried out as early as mid-January. "At the initiative of Estonia and Poland, it was decided to regularly review the price ceiling," Reinsalu added.

The price ceiling for Russian oil supplies at the level of $ 60 per barrel came into force on December 5. Initially, it was supported by the G7 group, the European Union and Australia, later Norway and the United States joined the sanctions.
