OREANDA-NEWS. The Egyptian authorities are going to open two new tourist cities in Egypt in the next few months. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Khaled al-Anani informed about this in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

The first city will be situated in the north of the country, about 100 kilometers from Cairo, not far from the Red Sea. It got the name Al-Galal. The second one will be established on the Mediterranean coast near Alexandria, and it is called Al-Alamin.

“Over the next few months, we are planning to open two fully new tourist cities. One city will be in the north about 100 km from Cairo closer to the Red Sea. It is called Al-Galala, ”explained al-Anani, adding that there is a harbor equipped for yachts.

The minister recalled that in addition to the popular among Russians Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt has other "very famous tourist cities": Marsa al-Alam, Taba, Nuweiba and Safaga. They, according to him, also receive a very large number of tourists.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism also noted that the authorities plan to connect all tourist zones and cities of Egypt with transport routes, including cheap flights, high-speed roads, and railways. “The main goal is to provide tourists with the opportunity to visit these cities and come not once, but many times,” Al-Anani explained.

Al-Anani expressed confidence that in the coming months the cost of tourist trips to Egypt from Russia will not change, as the Egyptian authorities continue to support aircraft arriving from other states. And in the future, the minister believes, prices may decrease due to an increase in the number of flights and the resumption of charter flights between the two countries.

On August 6, Russian airlines received permission to fly to the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Aeroflot, Pobeda and S7 will fly from Moscow. Flights from the regions will be operated by Rossiya, Ural Airlines, Smartavia, Nordwind, AZUR Air and S7.
