Russian Hamleys stores will change their name
The Hamleys chain, based in the UK, is now owned by Indian businessman Mukesh Abani and has 155 stores worldwide. In the Russian Federation, the franchisee of the network is JSC "Vanderkind", part of the Ideas4retail Group of Alexander Mamut. According to SPARK-Interfax, the revenue of "Wonderkind" in 2021 amounted to 991 million rubles, net profit — 20 million rubles.
In 2018, Ideas4retail merged its business with the Vinnie Group, which sells products for children of well-known European brands. According to the company's own data, today there are seven Vinnie stores in Moscow and the Moscow region, three of them are former Hamleys stores.
