OREANDA-NEWS  In the near future, Russian vodka will be available for sale in the Republic of South Africa (South Africa). Zamani Letjane, the head of Akani, announced the expansion of the geography of strong alcohol exports from the Russian Federation during a speech at the session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) "Russia — South Africa: Business and Investment Cooperation."

South Africa, along with Russia, are members of the BRICS, recalled an entrepreneur involved in the import of alcoholic beverages. Letjane said that the establishment of Russian vodka supplies to the African country's market would expand trade and economic ties between the two countries and contribute to the diversification of trade turnover. The export will be handled by five suppliers from the Russian Federation, he said.

By now, he has managed to obtain all the necessary import licenses to start supplying Russian vodka to South Africa. The first shipments of alcoholic beverages to the local market are expected by the end of June 2025. Letdzhane admitted that he himself took part in the tasting of vodka from the Russian Federation. "I tasted all the products myself to make sure of the quality," he concluded. In the future, his company plans to increase imports of Russian vodka. "This is just the beginning," the businessman concluded.

Earlier it became known about the beginning of the supply of Russian vodka to Latin America. Argentina signed two agreements on the import of the most famous brands of this type of strong alcohol from the Russian Federation. In the local market, it will have to compete with the traditional leaders — Swedish and French vodka, said Pablo Coucinho, head of the Argentina—Russia Business Council. Veronika Nikishina, CEO of the Russian Export Center, noted that Russian alcohol is beginning to enjoy great popularity abroad. She named vodka, cognac and tinctures as the most popular types.
