OREANDA-NEWS  Pork cannot even theoretically get into Miratorg's beef products, since the production of these types of meat is located in different regions of Russia, the company told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Thursday, Azerbaijani media reported that "employees of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan, as part of control measures, discovered pig DNA in a batch of products as a result of a study of samples taken from 21,000 kilograms of beef fat of the Miratorg trademark produced by Bryansk Meat Company, imported by Gurmit LLC from Russia.".

"This can't even theoretically happen. Pork is processed in Kursk and Belgorod regions, beef - in Bryansk. Different factories. This can't even happen by accident," the company explained.

They added that the Bryansk enterprise is certified in accordance with the requirements of the international standard FSSC 22000, which "guarantees the highest level of quality and safety."

"The complex regularly undergoes audits by both the certification body and key clients. The company is also certified according to the Halal standard, which excludes the use of pig products in the production process, which is monitored by independent experts on a daily basis," the company said.

"The company has implemented a transparent traceability system, thanks to which it is possible to check the entire path from the receipt of raw materials at the enterprise to the shipment of finished products to the customer. All this eliminates the possibility of pig DNA getting into the company's products," Miratorg concluded.

Miratorg Agroholding is the largest pork and beef producer in Russia. The company carries out a full production cycle: from crop production and meat production to the processing and sale of meat products in its branded retail network. The main owners of the holding are Viktor and Alexander Linnikov.
