OREANDA-NEWS  Employees of the state—owned company Russian Highways (Avtodor) will test the new markings on some highways with increased speed limits - up to 110 kilometers per hour and up to 130 kilometers per hour. The measure is necessary to reduce the risks of road accidents, according to the Telegram channel of the organization.

The experimental markup will be horizontal and look like a series of "arrows" or "ticks". They will testify to the drivers' compliance with the required distance. In addition, the new markings will help car owners navigate the road faster and more accurately, Avtodor said.

The marking will be tested on eight sections of the state-owned company's highways. Two of them are located in the Moscow region — on the Central Ring Road (CCAD). Four more are on the M—4 "Don" highway in the Lipetsk, Voronezh and Rostov regions. It will also be used on two sections of the M-11 Neva in the Tver and Leningrad regions. Special road signs will be installed to notify drivers about the marking. In case of successful testing, it will be placed on other sections of the state-owned company's routes.

Earlier, the head of Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, said that the highway bypass of Tver on the M-11 Moscow — St. Petersburg (Neva) highway will be partially opened in the summer of 2023. A completely new section of the bypass road will be opened in the summer of 2024. After that, the opening of the highway between Moscow and St. Petersburg can be considered fully completed.
