OREANDA-NEWS  South Korea's Hyundai Motor will recall 294,128 cars in the United States, including only four models. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the National Directorate of Traffic Safety.

The reason for the large-scale service campaign was a manufacturing defect that could cause the seat belt fasteners to detach. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan, the Genesis G90 executive sedan, as well as Santa Fe crossovers in standard and hybrid versions are subject to recall.

The regulator's documents explain that in the event of a traffic accident, the identified malfunction will not allow a person to be properly held in a chair, which could result in injury.

Hyundai Motor America said that the specialists of the official service centers will conduct an audit on all recalled vehicles. If a problem is detected, the structure will be reinforced or the fastener will be completely replaced. All repairs for car owners will be free of charge.

Earlier it became known that Mazda had suspended production of cars intended for the Middle Eastern market. This decision was made against the background of logistical problems caused by the partial closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the military conflict in the region.
