OREANDA-NEWS Russia is not satisfied with the rules that the West is trying to impose, as they conceal neocolonial ambitions and disrespect for the sovereignty of other countries. This was stated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin during a welcoming speech for the participants of the XII International scientific and expert forum "Primakov Readings", which was read out by Presidential Aide for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov, the correspondent of " <url>".

"Western countries advocate a kind of rules-based world. However, it was not difficult to make sure that this slogan hides openly neo-colonial ambitions, disrespect for the sovereignty of independent states, (...) to force them to change their foreign policy priorities. Russia, like many others in the world, is categorically not satisfied with such "rules," the head of state stressed.

Putin stressed that Russia stands for the truly democratic foundations of the world order. In particular, he highlighted the norms of international law, the "indisputable authority" of the UN Security Council and the mutual respect and equality of all countries.
