OREANDA-NEWS  The container ship was attacked in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. This is reported by the British Navy's Merchant Marine Coordination Center (UKMTO).

"The UKMTO has received a report of an incident 15 nautical miles northeast of Oman," the website says.

The captain of the container ship reported that a boat of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) approached the ship, which opened fire on the ship.

All the crew members reported that they were safe. There have been no reports of fires on the container ship or environmental impacts.
