OREANDA-NEWS Finnish police are investigating a case of hooliganism at the Russian consulate, one person has been detained, law enforcement agencies said in a statement.

"The police received information about hooliganism at the Russian consulate in Turku on Thursday afternoon. Currently, the case is being investigated as a violation of public order," the report says.

It is specified that one person was detained. The police remind that, in accordance with the Vienna Convention, it is obliged to take care of the security of diplomatic missions. The property of the Russian consulate in Turku had previously suffered, in particular, from vandalism, the report says.

On the night of April 30, a mailbox was damaged, a beer bottle broke the window glass of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in the Aland Islands (autonomy within Finland), a preliminary investigation is underway, the police of the autonomy reported. Protests have been held on a regular basis since February 2022 at all Russian diplomatic missions in Finland against Russia's actions in Ukraine.
