OREANDA-NEWS  Pro-Palestinian environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who was detained in Israel, has left Israel and is heading to Sweden with a transfer in France, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

"Greta Thunberg has just flown from Israel to Sweden (via France)," the agency said in a statement on the social network.

Thunberg was part of a group of activists who earlier in June attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, but the Israeli side did not allow this.

On Monday, Israeli naval special forces boarded the Madeleine ship, on which Thunberg was. The ship was escorted to the Israeli port of Ashdod. The activists themselves, who claimed their goal was to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, were detained. Thunberg accused the Israeli authorities of kidnapping.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry reported that all the participants in this action, who were detained the day before along with Thunberg aboard the ship Madeleine en route to the Gaza Strip, arrived at Ben Gurion Airport for further deportation.
