OREANDA-NEWS   The MiG-35 and Su-30MKI fighters are excellent. This assessment of Russian-made aircraft was given by Suman Sharma, a former pilot of the Indian Air Force and military correspondent for the Defense and Security Alert magazine. This is reported by TASS.

"The Russian fighters are excellent, and the Indian Air Force has been using them since the early 1950s and 1960s. That is why they form the basis of the Indian Air Force's combat fleet," the pilot said at the Aero India 2025 air show in Bangalore, India.

According to the pilot, who has experience in managing MiG-35 and Su-30MKI, the results of combat use of Russian aircraft "have always been excellent." Sharma noted that "a twin-engine fighter is always considered safer than a single-engine one."

In September, Defense News reported that India would purchase 240 high-temperature AL-31FP turbojet engines with controlled thrust vector for Su-30MKI multi-role fighters.

In August, the publication Army Recognition noticed that the Indian Su-30MKI wanted to turn into long-range radar detection aircraft.
