OREANDA-NEWS  Kazakhstan and Turkey have signed an agreement on the joint production of drones. The document was signed by representatives of interdepartmental structures after the meeting of the leaders of the countries — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the press service of the Kazakh leader Aqorda reports on its Telegram channel.

"The members of the official delegations exchanged the following interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents (...) An agreement on the establishment of a joint venture for the production and maintenance of ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles," the press release says. The points of the document are not disclosed.

ANKA drones are manufactured by the state-owned Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ). Their main task is to conduct round-the-clock reconnaissance, surveillance and strikes against ground targets.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the conclusion of a deal on the joint production of drones with Lithuania as part of the Drone Deal initiative. A similar signing of the document is planned with Latvia.
