OREANDA-NEWS Latvia will resume accepting visa applications from Russians with relatives in the European Union, Delfi reported with reference to the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry.

Close relatives of citizens and non-citizens of Latvia, family members of citizens of EU member states, states of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, as well as people applying for a visa for humanitarian reasons will be able to apply for visas. "The Foreign Ministry stressed that each visa application will be considered individually, and the applicant will have to prove compliance with one of the mentioned exclusion categories with the help of documents," the publication noted.

At the end of June, the Foreign Ministry claimed that Latvia was stopping accepting applications for all types of visas from Russians.
