OREANDA-NEWS   Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in the opening ceremony and work of the first Russian-Arab summit, which will be held on October 15, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the opening ceremony and the work of the first Russian-Arab summit. It will be held on October 15 in Moscow. The participants will be the heads of state, government and other supreme authorities of the League of Arab States, as well as the Secretary General of this pan-Arab organization," she said during a briefing on Wednesday.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the leaders of the Arab states to a summit to be held in Moscow on October 15. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that messages had been sent to all the leaders of the Arab League countries and the Secretary General of the pan-Arab organization on behalf of the Russian president to participate in the first Russian-Arab summit.
