OREANDA-NEWS The Pakistan Airports Authority has extended the closure of airspace for Indian airlines until June 24, Dawn reports.

On April 24, Pakistan closed the airspace over the country to all Indian airlines for a month.

On May 23, India extended the closure of airspace for Pakistani aircraft until June 23, the Hindustan Times reported. The previous ban on Pakistan using Indian airspace was in effect from April 30 to May 23.

Relations between Pakistan and India worsened on April 22, when a terrorist attack took place in the city of Pahalgam in northern India in a place with a large gathering of tourists. 26 people died. Indian media reported that Pakistanis were among the attackers. The Senate of Pakistan has unanimously passed a resolution denying any role of Islamabad in the attack.

On the night of May 7, the Indian military launched Operation Sindoor and carried out airstrikes on infrastructure located in Pakistan and in the Islamabad-controlled areas of Kashmir. Pakistan retaliated. Then the exchange of blows continued.
