OREANDA-NEWS  The authorities of Hungary and Poland cannot get out of the "toxic relations". The corresponding statement in his material was made by Jan Tsensky, who wrote an article for Politico.

The article says that the pro-Russian position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban caused an escalation of tension with the Polish side. It is also noted that this development of events was facilitated by the veto that the politician imposed on the European Union (EU) aid package for Ukraine, the size of which was 18 billion euros.

The author of the article stressed that the Hungarian leader uses the agreement on the minimum corporate tax as a way of putting pressure on the European Commission. He is sure that the head of state is trying to force the EC to allocate funds withheld by it because of Budapest's alleged restrictions on democratic freedoms.

Tsensky also suggested that the relations between the two states could become clearer after a couple of days, when the governments express their positive opinion on the freezing of additional funds allocated by the EU to Hungary.
