OREANDA-NEWS  At the World Economic Forum (WEF) this year there will be neither Russian nor Chinese billionaires, who until recently were "an integral attribute of Davos," writes Bloomberg.

"Not so long ago, Russian billionaires were an integral attribute of Davos, as common as Moncler down jackets. There are zero of them this year," the agency writes.

The fighting in Ukraine and "the ostracism of Russia by the West actually excluded the oligarchs from the annual conversation of capitalist elites," Bloomberg notes. In addition, not a single businessman from China will come to the forum, "since the country has not yet recovered from the surge in COVID-19 cases and the fall of the stock market," the agency writes.

According to Bloomberg, a total of 116 billionaires have registered to participate in the event, most of whom represent the United States, the EU, the Gulf states and India. "The composition of the list of invited billionaires reflects the global upheavals that are taking place in the world against the background of conflicts, the spread of diseases and rising inflation," the agency said in a statement.
