Tanker collided with container ship off the coast of Britain

OREANDA-NEWS The US-flagged oil tanker Stena Immaculate and the Portuguese-flagged container ship Solong collided in the North Sea off the coast of Great Britain. This is reported by Sky News.
Both vessels caught fire after the collision. According to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) rescue service, four lifeboats were sent to the scene.
The British Coast Guard reported that the collision occurred off the coast of East Yorkshire at 9:48 a.m. (12:48 a.m. Moscow time). A Coastguard rescue helicopter from Humberside, lifeboats from Skegness, Bridlington, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpe, a Coastguard aircraft and nearby vessels capable of extinguishing fires were sent to help.
At the time of the collision, the 183-meter tanker Stena Immaculate was anchored, according to data from the vessel tracking service Vesselfinder. He arrived at Killingholme Port on Sunday, March 9th. On February 27, the tanker left the Greek port of Agia Theodora. The 140-meter container ship Solong left the Scottish port of Grangemouth the day before and was scheduled to arrive in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Monday evening, March 10.
In December 2024, the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Black Sea. The last parts of the stern of the stranded vessel Volgoneft-239 were removed from the water in the Krasnodar Territory on March 8. Due to the accident, fuel oil emissions were recorded on the coast, and the cleaning of the territory continues at the present time. Anapa authorities demanded 211 million rubles from the owners of the wrecked tankers.
