OREANDA-NEWS   The aircraft carrier Gerald Ford of the United States Navy last Friday, April 17, broke the record for the number of days at sea, USNI News reports.

According to the portal, last week Gerald Ford broke the record among aircraft carriers for the number of deployment days after the end of the Cold War. "As of Friday, the aircraft carrier has been on a business trip for 297 days," the publication says.

With reference to representatives of the Navy, the publication added that the deployment period of Gerald Ford could reach 11 months.

In January, the TWZ portal reported that the second Ford—type aircraft carrier of the US Navy, John Kennedy, sailed for the first time to begin sea trials.

In the same month, the Chief of Naval Operations (Chief of Staff) Admiral Daryl Codle of the US Navy said that the Ford aircraft carrier strike group is overloaded with combat missions.
